Loss of innocence



No more a child I am now
Having lost the innocence
That childhood brings in
For each one as he comes
It didnt wane out fast
But died a slow death
In the hands of a mother
Who counted its breath
The skin gave way first
And so did the flesh
The rest followed suit
To go there and rest
The craving came in
Much after the realization
That I had lost it
Long before it was gone
